1a. Why don’t all the properties have full details and photos? |
| |
While Move-Home encourages all our agents to provide us full property details with as much information as possible, not all of our member agents are able and some choose not to comply. Sometimes, an agent might want to post a newly available property before s/he has had an opportunity to take photographs or prepare a full description. If you want more information on a property you have seen on Move-Home, we recommend that you contact the agent directly. |

1b. Why do some properties marked SOLD STC still appear on the site? |
| |
In England and Wales, a property sale is not legally binding until contracts have been exchanged. In other words, even if an offer has been made and is accepted, the seller may entertain higher offers from other bidders. So, we list the property as “Sold, Subject to Contract” when an offer has been accepted, but contracts have not been exchanged. Many people use Move-Home to gauge property prices in their area, so properties with SOLD STC flags can be a useful guide to the strength of the market.

1c. Which internet browsers do we support? |

The following internet browsers are supported. Earlier versions may work, however we recommend you upgrade to one of these free browsers to get the most out of our website.

1d. Why did you change the design of the site? |
| |
We changed the design of the site for several reasons:
- to make the site faster
- to improve the way you can search for properties
- to improve navigation
- to give the site a fresher look
- to make our pages more flexible
- to comply with new accessibility guidelines required under the Disabilities Discrimination Act

2a. Why doesn’t your search recognize the location I typed in? |
| |
The most common reason for this is misspellings. Double check your location to make you spelled the place name correctly, or entered the postcode correctly. If you believe a place name should be recognized and it is not, please contact us |

2b. Can I search using more specific criteria than what you have listed? |
| |
We do not currently include more specific criteria in our search because agents tell us that many people eventually buy properties that are not quite what they originally specified. As such, we've found it better to present more generic results which include properties that users may not have originally considered. |

2c. My search, which included my area plus a few miles around, returned unexpected results. |
| |
Our radius search is not based on radius from the centre of a location, but from the borders. This means that your search area may be larger than your expectations. To combat this, we suggest reducing your radius size to take the borders into account. Please see our explanation of how our radius search works. |

2d. How does tube and train search work? |
| |
You can now search for properties by entering the name of any tube, train, tram or DLR station in Britain. Simply type in the name of your chosen station (e.g. Manchester Piccadilly Station or Victoria Station) and the search results page will display the properties which match your chosen criteria. The distance displayed is "as the crow flies". In other words, we display the shortest distance between the property and the station, not taking into account diversions necessary to cross rivers, railroads, or other barriers. In addition, you can now view the distance in miles, of the three nearest stations on every property details page. Please note that you are currently unable to sort the properties by distance from the station selected. |

2e. I have changed my mind about the type of property I want. How do I change my search preferences. |
| |
You cancel existing searches if they are no longer relevant by following the steps below. You can then set up a new search under ‘Your email updates’ to match the new criteria. |

2f. I have now found my dream home. How do I cancel my email alerts? |
| |
You can cancel these by going to ‘Your email updates’. Under the Status section, you can choose the ‘Stop sending updates by email’ option. |
3. More Information about Properties |

3a. What should I do if I want more information about one of the properties I’ve seen on your site or to arrange a viewing? |
| |
Move-Home is not itself an Estate Agent. We only display the properties provided to us by our subscribing members. We recommend that you contact the estate agent or developer who is marketing the property if you require further information. The agent’s contact details are both on the search results page and on the property details page. You can call the phone number provided or use the "Request Details" or "Request a Viewing" buttons on the property details page to email the agent with your questions. |

3b. I asked for details on a property but haven’t heard anything yet. What should I do? |
| |
We’re sorry that the agent or developer you contacted has not promptly replied to your request. We are constantly working with our members to insure that they quickly respond to queries. The best way to make sure your queries are answered immediately is by calling the agent directly. |

3c. My house is being sold through a Move-Home.com member, but it doesn’t appear on the website. Why not? |
| |
If your agent is a Move-Home member, then your property should appear on our site as soon as your agent has completed (and you have signed off) the property details and uploaded them to our database. Please contact your agent to make sure s/he has finished the details and marked that the house is available for sale. If your agent uses property software in their branch, it may take up to 24 hours to appear on our site. |

3d. Why is my house still online when it has been sold? |
| |
If you have exchanged contracts but not yet completed on your purchase, your home could still appear on the site as "Sold, Subject to contract" (see the buying guides for more on this). If you have completed contracts, then your home should no longer appear on the site. If this is the case, please contact your agent and make sure s/he updates the status of your home on Move-Home. |

3e. The details of my house on Move-Home.com are incorrect. What should I do? |
| |
We receive all property details directly from our members. It is best to contact your agent directly to inform them of the errors in the description. |

4. Other Questions |

4a. Can I sell my home privately through Move-Home? |
| |
Move-Home does not allow private sales. As part of our commitment to our users, we only work through estate agents because they are covered by the Estate Agency Act 1979 and the Property Misdescriptions Act 1991, which requires them to be truthful in their advertising about property and affords protection to both buyer and seller. If you want to have your home listed on Move-Home, you can find members in your area by searching our member agents. Alternatively, ask your preferred agent to contact Move-Home about membership. |

4b. I am an agent/developer and want to know more about becoming a member. What do I do? |
